Euro Jigsaw Jam #50+ FLEX - Mystery Puzzle Solo - 23.03.25 - 10am

We welcome you to participate in our live online speed puzzling event – the Euro Jigsaw Jam! Join in the exciting and competitive atmosphere of assembling an unknown puzzle, while racing against other speed puzzlers from around Europe!

This is a 50+ Club Competition
If you have solved SIX or more 500 piece puzzles on a FIRST ATTEMPT in less than 50 minutes, then this competition is not for you. Here we are giving the rising stars of the speed puzzling community the opportunity to compete against each other.
If you have NOT solved six 500 piece puzzles on the FIRST ATTEMPT in less than than 50 minutes, then this event is for you.

EJJ FLEX: This puzzle may be completed online or offline. There is no livestream for this event.

Category: Solo
One person only will attempt to solve this puzzle within the time limit.

Time limit: 2 hours
If the puzzle is not finished within 2 hours, the remaining pieces will be counted to determine the ranking. All results will be published on our website, forming a rankings database.

Puzzle: 500 pieces
The mystery puzzle will be sent to the participants ahead of time and packaged in a way that the box is not visible.

Language: English
The virtual meeting will be conducted in the English language.

Online: Google Meet
We use Google Meet for the competition. You don't need to install anything, it works in any browser. You'll receive the link a few days prior. The package should not be opened until you are sitting at your computer at the appointed date and time, and given the instruction to unwrap from the host. The anticipation and surprise is part of the experience!

Offline: Video Submission
If you are unable to join the online meeting, you may send us a video and still appear in the results. The deadline for the video submission is midnight the following day. E.g. if the competition is on Tuesday at 7pm / 19:00, the deadline for video submission is Wednesday 11:59pm / 23:59.

In the video you must show the original puzzle in its giftwrap and still intact. Then you may unwrap the puzzle and remove any plastic wrap or stickers. You may look at the image for 30 seconds before starting your timer, opening the puzzle and starting assembly. The video must be at normal speed (no time lapses) and show your table, hands and all the pieces as you build.

The video must then be uploaded to a Youtube channel as an unlisted video or to a cloud folder e.g. Google Drive or Dropbox. Send us the link via email - do not send us any attachments.

For the purpose of the competition, you may only attempt once and your first attempt is the time that counts.

NO SPOILERS will be tolerated. After completing the puzzle, no images or video may be shared of the puzzle until after the online event has taken place. Participants found sharing the details of the puzzle including images, video or title of puzzle before online competition will be disqualified!

The Flex competition only works based on trust and goodwill. Therefore if you choose to participate offline, we recommend doing the puzzle as close to the competition date as possible to avoid slip ups, rather than doing the puzzle six weeks before. Additionally, the earlier you complete the puzzle, the longer you have to wait for the results and to talk about or share photos of the puzzle.

Time zone: CET
We are in a time zone with Brussels. Please adjust your start time accordingly if you live in a different time zone.

We use piece puzzles from a European brand or brand available in Europe. This includes Ravensburger, however there are so many great local brands suitable for speed puzzling, that we will use a variety in our competitions.

Everyone will do their best to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible. There will be prizes for the three fastest puzzlers at each competition.
